Cub Scout Pack 1592 was established in 2006 in north west Roseville, CA.
We formed after Pack 146 grew to host nearly 100 scouts from elementary schools in northwest Roseville. The Golden Empire Council decided to split the schools and create a new pack, forming Pack 1592. We were numbered in honor of our first Charter Organization, the Roseville Fire Fighters Association Local 1592.
Pack 146 donated equipment and supplies to help get the pack off the ground, including a Pinewood Derby track so that we could race our first year. Flags were borrowed from BSA Troop 828 so that our Webelos could carry them in the opening ceremony with the Citrus Heights Marching band for a community BBQ. The chairman of the festivities, Mr. Dick Cowan, was impressed with our boys and offered funds so that we could purchase our own set of flags, poles and cases.
In Fall 2007, Pack 1592 became chartered by Clark Sullivan Construction with Mr. Cowan as our Charter Organization Representative.
In Summer of 2010 Pack 1592 changed chartering organizations once again to the Kiwanis Club of Roseville. Kiwanis is an excellent organization which had previously sponsored events for our pack, such as the 2009 Fall Fishing Derby.
Michael Herbert is our current Charter Organization Representative, a father of a former Pack 1592 scout and former Pack 1592 Committee Chair. Thank you Roseville Kiwanis for making Pack 1592’s continued success possible!
Pack 1592 has had a significant history that has impacted the community by:
- Collecting for the Salvation Army
- Collecting food for the Scouting for Food program
- Delivering food for Meals on Wheels at Thanksgiving
- Participating in the Toys for Troops toy drive
- Building a crossing guard shed for Blue Oaks Elementary School
- Christmas Caroling in Sun City
- Decorating graves at Roseville Cemetery for Memorial Day
- Numerous color guard opportunities for other agencies
- And just being good scouts
We look forward to the years ahead as we continue to grow, to train up our scouts to be leaders in the community.
