Grade Level and Rank Progression
Each year of school is represented by a rank level. Your scout works to earn the patch for the rank he or she is at, hopefully having it presented at the end of year Graduation Campfire.
Your scout always moves on to the next level and is always at the level corresponding to their grade level. Whether they earn the patch by the end of the year depends on completing their requirements. Cub Scouts adopts a “Do your Best” standard whenever there are issues accomplishing individual requirements, and you are encouraged to speak with your Den Leader if any issues arise or accommodations are needed.
* Kindergarten and First Grade scouts are required to have their parent/guardian/designated adult present at all Den Meetings and Activities.
In the fifth grade year, Arrow of Light Scouts begin investigating which Scouting America (formerly Scouts BSA, formerly Boy Scouts) Troop they are interested in joining.
By January or February they will attend a “Bridging Ceremony” where earn their Arrow of Light if applicable, and leave our Pack to continue their Scouting Journey.
